I have always loved traveling.
It was while traveling around Europe when I was 13 years old that I firmly decided that photography was what I wanted to do with my life.
I grew up in Durango with an amazing family that has always supported my traveling. Part of this family was my best friend Kelsey McLean.
She believed in living every day to the fullest and making sure life was full of adventure, laughter, and meaning.
She had adopted the motto "Keep Exploring" and traveled with a red Keep Exploring flag on all her adventures.
In college Kelsey was diagnosed with MS, but she didn't let that stop her.
She put together a tour of South America.
She filled her life with beauty, excitement, culture and exploration.
After South America she spent her summer in Crested Butte, hiking, biking, paddle boarding and just soaking up the wonderful mountains that always called her home.
In 2015 Kelsey died in a car accident at the age of 23.
And though it broke my heart into a thousand little pieces, I took comfort in knowing that she lived more in those 23 years than many people do in a lifetime
So I will "Keep Exploring" for the rest of my life. Inspired by Kelsey to fill my days with wonder, adventure and to LIVE.
